Greg Brown, LC'82, Hosted Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala in 2013

Gregory Q. Brown, LC'82, hosted the 2013 Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala on Saturday, May 4. Brown himself was inducted to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 2010, and in 2011 the Livingston Alumni Association honored him as a Distinguished Alumnus. Brown also sits on the university's Board of Governors and is chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions Inc.

The 2013 inductees to the Hall of Distinguished Alumni are:

  • Mark Angleson RC'72, NLAW'75: Transformational leader and former deputy mayor of Chicago, now the chairman of NewPage Corporation and the Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund
  • Carli Lloyd RC'06: Gold medal-winning soccer player who scored the game-winning goals for the U.S. Women’s National Team in the final matches of the 2012 and 2008 Summer Olympics
  • Randal Pinkett ENG’94: Founder, chairman, and CEO of BCT Partners, a national consulting firm that delivers program management, research and evaluation, technical assistance, and IT services
  • Joseph Rigby SBC’79: Chairman, president, and CEO of Pepco Holdings Inc., a regional energy holding company that provides utility service to 2 million customers in the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Judith Viorst NCAS’52: Acclaimed author of 36 books, including Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, an American Library Association Notable Children’s Book

The black-tie ceremony included a reception at the Mason Gross Galleries, followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at the Heldrich Hotel, New Brunswick.
